Amazon to Launch Unlimited Video Streaming Prime Video in Japan

Online retail giant Amazon announced that the company would start "Prime Video" in Japan from September, 2015 as a new service for Amazon Prime members.

Amazon Prime members can watch a wide range of video productions unlimitedly such as movies,TV programs, popular animations, music lives and Amazon original works, by just paying annual membership fees (3900 JPY / 32 USD).

Prime Video supports a variety of devices such as smart phones, tablets, game equipment and smart TV. In addition to the standard and high-definition videos, Prime members can also watch 4K Ultra HD videos.

Jasper Cheung, CEO of Amazon Japan, said, "the Amazon Prime becomes a more attractive member program by adding "Prime Video" to it newly."

Amazon plans to provide various contents such as popular Japanese dramas ,variety shows, and movies and the details will be announced sequentially in the future. In addition, Amazon is going to advertise Prime Video in various campaigns such as the digital signage at X-crossing in Shibuya, Tokyo which already began from August 27.
