Manny Pacquiao Warmly Welcomed in Tokyo for Filipino Festival

Manny Pacquiao is the first and only eight-division world boxing champion and also a member of parliament for his country. He was invited as a special guest at this Philippine Festival 2015, which was held throughout the weekend in Yoyogi park in Shibuya area of Tokyo.

It is very recent that he has lost his world welterweight unified Champion fight against U.S. boxer Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas on May. However the 32 years old is the hero of the country and highly respected from everyone in his country. He was born in a poor family and started boxing at the age of 12, helping the family by winning the boxing fights.  

The festival was held by Japan-based Filipinos and this was the 4th time. One of the reasons of the festival is to improve the recognition of Philippines to many Japanese. It is aiming to boost the number of Japanese tourists to the tropical country.

The champion has the plan of opening his own boxing gym in Japan and told the visitors of the festival "I could win many fights and titles with the support you gave me." He showed his appreciation for the support that Japanese fans gave to him. The southpaw made many visitors smile in Tokyo.
