Mie is in focus right now with the F1 Japan Grand Prix from September 25 this year and the Ise-Shima summit in May, 2016. In the heart of Mie, the City of Tsu, a monumental exhibition is about to open at MieMu or Mie Prefectural Museum.

The exhibition entitled "SUZUKA: The Stage for Dream and Challenge - Honda's F1 and Suzuka Circuit" displays all of Honda's legendary racing cars. The exhibition lasts till November 15 and, besides varieties of racing cars, it features the history of Honda's global challenge and the drama that had linked Honda to the Suzuka Circuit and Mie.

Among the legendary racing cars on display are Honda RA272 (1965), Williams-Honda FW10 (1985), McLaren-Honda MP4/5B (1990), Bar Honda 006 (2004), Honda RA107 (2007) and McLaren-Honda MP4-30 still fuming after the Japan Grand Prix 1015 a day before, for a limited period September 29 through October 4.

"The Suzuka Circuit owes its birth to Honda's Suzuka Seisakusho and its SuperCub (motorcycle)", recalls Kazuya Takigawa of MieMu. In designing the exhibition, Takigawa had one clear vision in his mind - displaying in front what symbolizes the circuit best: Honda RC142, the legendary vehicle that ran in the Isle of Man TT in 1959. "That's where Honda's 'Dream and Challenge' started", said Takizawa.

The exhibition comprises three zones.

The first zone "The Birth of Suzuka Circuit and Early Days of Honda F1" tells the chance meeting of Honda and the city of Suzuka and Honda's hardships in participating in F1 Race with Honda RA272.
The second zone "Footsteps of Honda" depicts "All Honda" days with Ayrton Senna and Satoru Nakajima and their machines.

The third zone "Suzuki Circuit: Mecca of Japan's Motor Sport" recalls good old days and races, dramas and Honda's concept of traffic safety education.
