Raccoon Caught in Tokyo's Electronics Quarter Akihabara

A raccoon has been caught in the Akihabara, Tokyo on Sunday evening. A man who works at an electric appliance shop in the popular tourist shopping area has spotted the small animal around 6:50 P. M. on the top of a tree in the street. This employee has called the local police station after confirming the animal. It was just near the JR Akibahara train station, of Akibahara in Tokyo Japan. Many people gathered around the area to have a look at the animal and young Japanese commented on social medias such as Twitter to attract more people.

The raccoon is sized about 60 c.m. in length which is fairly big in size. 10 police officers showed up to catch the animal as well as a fire truck which can provide a ladder for stepping area to reach the top of the tree. However, it was not easy to catch the raccoon as it felt danger and turned brutal.

A 30 years old man who was walking passed by and 2 police officers were injured by the raccoon biting them. A police officer captured the raccoon when it came down from the tree and put in a cage. It took over 1 hour and 40 minutes altogether to catch the raccoon.

The small animal is currently protected by Manseibashi police station. The raccoon is in a cage but still over excited and it makes difficult to check if it is a male raccoon or a female raccoon.  The police department is now trying to find out if the raccoon was owned by someone or came from a wild world.  

With the request of the Tokyo's Police department, animal welfare consultation center in Setagaya, Tokyo has confirmed that the small animal was a raccoon.

According to the police, there was a phone call from a citizen saying that the person would like to have the raccoon as a pet to breed the animal well.
