Toyota Hybrid Vehicles' Global Sales Exceeded 8 Million

On August 21, Toyota announced their cumulative global sales of its hybrid vehicles reached over 8 million units (8,048,000 units) by the end of July.

Toyota regards the protection of environment as a priority management issue. They have been tackling the spreads of their hybrids based on their idea "The spread of Eco-friendly cars is the best contribution". Toyota released Coaster hybrid EV on August, 1997 in Japan and Prius, the world first mass-hybrid electric vehicle on December in the same year. The cumulative number of hybrid vehicle has exceeded 8 million in about 10 months after its exceeding 7 million at the end of September, 2014. 

Including the introductions of 3 new hybrid models in the most recent one year period, Toyota sells 30 hybrid vehicle models and 1 plug-in hybrid vehicle model in more than 90 countries and reagions as of the end of July, 2015. 

They plans to release RAV4 hybrid in the United States in this autumn and Corolla hybrid and Levin hybrid in China by the end of this year,  is going to work on continued expansion of further lineup and sales area.
