October 21, 2015: Japanese Movie Fans Celebrate 30th Year into the Future

Remember the day the "Back to the Future"  had set to time-slip to? October 21, 2015, that's right, and movie fans made big issues of the occasion on the day here and there in Japan.

That was a good movie for sure and a company with a nationwide franchise of dessert restaurants certainly agreed, enough to arrange a special event in memory of "Back to the Future" at five of their stores all over Japan.

In Funabashi, Chiba, the store offered a fancy cake shaped in the image of that car-type time machine in the movie, a pizza that looks like the face of that all-important clock in the film, plus drinks, etc. in a special menu made out for the day.

A young mother of her 3-year-old kid came to the store with her friends:

"When I saw the movie I thought the day would be far out in the future but, Gee, it happens to be today."

"I wish 30 years from now, the world will be tender and kind to children. I hope my child will grow up to like this picture too".

An ardent fan of the movie, movie commentator Kon Arimura said in his talk show in reminiscence:

"This movie changed the course of my life. I hope movie fans will have fun watching this movie visualizing yet another world 30 years from now".

In "Back to the Future Part II" Marty, Doc. Brown and Jennifer time-travelled 30 years into the future. The day he arrived, October 21, 2015,

Marty stepped in a cafe and was dumbfounded to see Ronald Reagan and Michael Jackson on the monitor screen. He ordered a Pepsi; he got a Pepsi Perfect.

In commemoration of the 30th year "future day", Pepsi marketed Pepsi Perfect for limited-time offer.
