Tokyo International Film Festival Began

The Tokyo International Film Festival has begun on October 22 and many famous and popular actors, actress and film directors attended an opening event. 

The annual event is the biggest film events in Asian countries. The 28th  event has been held at a hall in Roppongi area of Tokyo. Movie actors, actress and directors walked on the red carpet and encourage fans who visited the event to be very excited. Guests were invited both from Japan and foreign countries.

1400 entries have been nominated for the best film award of the year and 16 were chosen alive for the final nomination. Out of these 16 films, there are three Japanese movies to be nominated. Kohei Oguri's work named "FOUJITA," Koji Fukada's film called "Sayonara," and Yoshihiro Nakamura's "The Inerasable."

Joe Odagiri who worked as the main character of the movie "FOUJITA", has spoken to reporters saying "This is the work that Kohei Oguri created after 10 years to come back to the film industry. It is a works of intimacy and worth watching."

Yuko Takeuchi acted as the main character of "The Inerasable" said, "It is such an honour to be nominated to the best film award.  This film is a horror film that makes you feel scary little by little as the story moves on just like documentaries.  It can be enjoyed together with your friends or family."

It features memorial screenings for one of the most popular Japanese actor Ken Takakura who has passed away in November of last year. 10 films for which the actor worked are being shown from October 23 to 29 in a hall held at Shinjuku, Tokyo for his memory as well.
