Winter Bonus for Major Japanese Companies Expected Record High
The bonus given for employees of major companies is expected to be over 910 thousand yen which is about 7500 U.S.D for each individual this winter. This is 20 thousand yen greater than that of last year and it will be three years in a row that winter bonus keeps increasing.
Japan Business Federation or Keidanren has made the investigation and released the result of the first aggregate result. The investigation was created by questioning major companies with over 500 employees that are listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
According to the answer returned by October 30, winter bonus for each individual is going to be over 910 thousand yen or 3.13% higher than that of last year. The increase rate in percentage is not as large as last year, but the number is growing higher. This is expected to mark the record of the highest number of winter bonus since the investigation started back in the year 1981.
Looking at industries, Car companies have the highest bonus of over 980 thousand yen. Machinery metals have over 90 thousand yen and Shipbuilding have over 820 thousand yen.
The rise of this winter bonus is because of profit and performance of manufacturing improved with the help of weaker Yen. Another main reason is the response to the base up of basic salary took place in the Spring this year.
There are 12 business industries which are investigated for the bonus detail and 10 out of 12 industries increased the winter bonus for employees. Keidanren will conclude the final result at the end of December and the result is expected to be the highest in the history.
