A newborn baby has been left alone on the street in Hokota city, Ibaraki prefecture, North East of Tokyo on Tuesday. On Thursday, police found the 24 years old mother and arrested her for not being responsible for her own child.

Miwa Sato, a part-time worker in the Hokota city, was identified as the suspect. She has left her newborn baby on the street right in front of her house. When the baby was found alive on Tuesday, she still had her umbilical cord on the body. The baby had hypothermia and her body temperature went down to 23 degree Celsius at one point. The baby is still in the hospital and receiving treatment, but there is no serious problem for the health.

According to the police officers, a man who is a friend of the suspect provided information about Sato. "I have a friend who might be the mother of the baby." Sato's friend told the police officers.

Then police officers have checked with Sato herself to make sure about the case. Sato admitted that she has left her baby on the street on Tuesday. "There was nobody that I could speak to about my baby. I lost myself when the baby came out" the suspect told police officers.

She gave birth to her baby without anyone's support in her house. Sato has never been to a hospital ever since she got pregnant. Sato was living together with her mother and her grandmother, but none of her family members recognized that she was pregnant. The baby is a girl and staying at the hospital at the moment.
