Terrorists' Attack in Paris Killed Over 120
Several spots in the French Capital of Paris turned bloodbath in the early hours of November 14 as terrorists made simultaneous attacks in several points gunning each screaming Allahu Akbar in a Cambodian restaurant, a rock concert hall and various spots in town. All attackers were subdued.
The Japanese government set up an emergency headquarters in the local embassy in Paris to confirm whether or not Japanese citizens were involved and dispatch warming to local resident nationals.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs alarmed the citizens in Paris and those schedule to go to France of prevailing risks and possible dangers while touring.
Meanwhile, the National Police Agency is in close contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to follow overseas media to confirm the safety of Japanese nationals in that part of the world.
The Ministry of Education is in close contact with universities to check the whereabout of students abroad and follow up their safety.
Paris is to host a UN conference COP 21 starting November 30. The Ministry of Environment is in close touch with the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Foreign affairs to collect data on whether or not the incident in Paris affects the conference.
JTB has canceled all departures on November 14 and 1 5 of the tourist packs of LOOK JTB France bound. Customers will be fully refunded. JTB is busy checking the safety of 3000 customers resident in Paris in the period November 14-15. As of 11:00 hour no information is received of any victim of the incident in Paris earlier on November 14.
Still remains unclear is why the terrorists had handpicked France for a stage of bloody assaults. Ongoing investigation should hopefully clear some of the ambiguities. The upcoming G20 in southern Turkey starting November 15 will definitely have the problem of terrorism added on its agenda.
