People are funny - funny in such an amiable manner. A local railway station in Hokkaido happens to be called "happiness" and a station in Taiwan's Hexing Station in Hsinchu County is nicknamed "Love".

The amorous coincidence is binding both stations in a sister station agreement shortly.

Chiu Ching-chun, the Magistrate of Hsinchu County, and a team of 22 including the Taiwanese media visited Obihiro July 22 and the happy station "Kofuku Eki".

Hexing Station is the stage of an episode of affextionate lovers maturing love; while Kofuku Eki literally means "station of happienss".

The railway line on which Kofuku Eki is located is no longer in service but the Obihiro city officials told the Taiwanese guests how the station had grown a busy tourist site visited by many tourists the year around.

Magistrate Chiu rang the Bell of Happiness near the station and wrote his message "Full of Happiness" in the Happiness Card and posted on the wall of the former station building.

Mr. Chiu Ching-chun commented:

"I've visited Kofuku Eki and felt the hapiness of so many people. I'm filled with happiness and joy myself."

The sister-city agreement is signed at Hexing Station this October. Both stations are planning to foster friendship relations crossinviting tourists from now on.

Kofuku Eki is a railway station on the now defunct Hiroo Line, Obihiri, Hokkaido. The station itself is closed now and owned by the town residents' association.

"Love station" Hexing is known for a romantic story of a man chasing after a train with his loved one on board. The cute part of the story is that the romantic man and his "loved one" are substantiated today - Mr. and Mrs. Zeng!
