Khara of Hideaki Anno Filed Suit against Gainax

The anime producer Khara managed by Hideaki Anno of "Neon Genesis Evangelion" and "Shin Godzilla（Godzilla Resurgence）" filed a suit at the Tachikawa branch of the Tokyo District Court against the anime studio Gainax over the payment of a debt running up to 100 million yen, it was reported. The report has it that  the suit pertains to the payment of a debt of royalties due from Gainax to Khara. Khara had made a special loan worth 100 million yen but, payback being delayed, Khara sued for a payment of some 10 million  yen.

In reference to the report, Khara's official twitter account makes a remark to the effect that it is the corporate Khara, not Hideaki Anno in person, that filed the suit. It is nevertheless true that the suit was filed.

The Neon Genesis Evangelion series represent the typical work of both corporates. It is reported that both were formerly listed as its claimants but since 2014 end only Khara is listed.
