Google Launched Google Play Music in Japan
On September 3, Google released the music service "Google Play Music" in Japan. It is a subscription service that allows unlimited access to more than 35 million songs of domestic and international labels for 980 yen per month. Musics can be downloaded with smartphones and tablets running Android and iOS, and also be used with PC.
Google Play Music also features the store, which allows purchases of a single song or album, and a free cloud locker where up to 50,000 digital songs purchased or owned by the user can be stored with no charge.
Moreover, its algorithm learns the user's preference as they listen to music, makes recommendations accordingly and automatically creates a playlist. If previously downloaded, it can be played even without internet connection.
Sony Music Entertainment, Avex Music Creative and Universal Music are among the over 200 domestic and international labels providing the songs. The first month of service is free of charge, and users who register until October 18th can use it with a monthly fee of 780 yen.
