Haruki Murakami Missed Another Chance of Winning Nobel Prize

It has been a great year in term of receiving Nobel prize for Japanese as a few Japanese has been prized the award in a different subject. 

On the evening on Thursday, 8th of October, there was the announcement for the winner of Nobel Prize in Literature. Haruki Murakami, a Japanese writer who keeps releasing best sellers and loved by many from all around the world, has been mentioned as a possible recipient for the Nobel Prize of literature 10 years in a row. However, again this year, he failed to win the prize and disappointments from many of his fans who call themselves "Harukist".

Murakami's work has been translated into at least 50 languages worldwide and he is one of the best-known living Japanese novelists. Murakami began to write fiction when he was 29 and inspired to write his first novel, Hear the Wind Sing (1979), while watching a baseball game.

There is a restaurant named "Pinocchio" in the story of his work and it actually exist in Kobe city of Japan. Many of his fans gathered at the restaurant, waiting to celebrate the news of winning Nobel Prize but ended with a sign for all of them.

"I wanted Murakami to win the Nobel prize this time because many Japanese has won the prize in other areas. I hope he will win it next year" said by a 60 years old  high school teacher visited the restaurant who is a big fan of Murakami to Sankei Shimbun.

The hope for Murakami was huge. Japanese big bookstore, Kinokuniya has created special corner just for Murakami's work with the award prayer. An employee at the bookstore said, " Murakami is a great writer and still active in his work. I am very confident that he will be rewarded the Nobel prize in the future."

The Swedish Academy has prized the work of Belarusian, Svetlana Alexievich instead.
