Resident Evil Third CG Movie to Release in 2017
Capcon has announced a new full CG animation movie based on their popular game "Resident Evil" will be released in 2017. This will be the third full CG movie since "Resident Evil: Damnation" released in 2012.
The executive producer is Takashi Shimizu, who produced the "The Grudge" film series, and it will be directed by Takanori Tsujimoto known for "Mobile Police Patlabor" series. The screenplay will be written by Makoto Fukami, known for "Psycho-Pass" and "School-Live!", the music will be produced by Kenji Kawai, and Hiroyuki Kobayashi, from Capcom, will be the supervising director.
The popular characters Chris Redfield and Rebecca Chambers will appear on the movie. Marza Animation Planet, the company who called attention with CG animation movie "Space Pirate Captain Harlock", will be responsible for the production, which is expected to reproduce the Resident Evil world with the newest CG technology.
Resident Evil is a popular horror game series that boasts accumulated sales of 65 million copies since the release of its first title, in 1996. The live-action movie adaptation series, starred by Milla Jovovich, has had five titles produced so far, with its last movie "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" scheduled to premier worldwide in 2017.
